As the Marketing Director for a mid-sized company, my role challenges me daily. I oversee and implement the marketing strategy for the organization, including the management of: development and direction of six websites, company-wide lead acquisition and conversion, special promotions, annual publication development, the marketing budget and expenditures, and all print and web advertising. Additionally, I am the senior technology project manager for the organization.
It is sort of a hodgepodge position of everything I’ve tried to do and been successful at. All the things I wasn’t very good at, I have managed to ask other people to help me – and luckily I have surrounded myself with really amazing, talented people who can and will take those things on. It’s a pleasure to work in that sort of balance.
But my work only somewhat defines me. I live in Colorado with my amazing husband, my beautiful daughter, and a slightly ADHD Siberian Husky where I enjoy every moment I can away from a computer screen. I love to run, snowboard, snowshoe, camp, hike, read, and just lay in the grass with my daughter watching the clouds move across the blue Colorado sky.
I also revel in travel and exploration. Every time I leave home, I realize that there is so much more out there that I should never ever forget to open my eyes and look around. As Mary Oliver said, “I know a thousand lives worth living”.
I’m an incredibly impatient photographer. I’m half deaf in my left ear. I am hopelessly optimistic – sometimes to the point of blindness. And I am concerned about the environmental impacts of my lifestyle and of those around me – in other words… I think green.
